One of the main goals of AWK is to educate the public on the realities of firearms in the United States.  While many efforts involve half-truths, misinformation and myths, AWK clarifies such topics as assault weapons, background checks, legal issues, and current policies impeding meaningful progress.  Many people have good intentions in promoting responsible gun ownership, but lack the knowledge necessary to make substantive change. AWK provides an opportunity to become “Armed with Knowledge” and an educated participant in the gun debate.
